Can I safely clean up unwanted permissions?
Yes. Permission cleanup reviews saved direct guest access, broad assignments, sharing links, and unique permissions. Select eligible assignment removals or redundant inheritance changes, review their impact and credit estimate, then approve. A fresh permission backup is saved before changes and results are verified. Reviews are free; verified cleanup uses your existing restore credits. Sharing links and administrative grants remain review only.
How do I get started?

Can I back up permissions without a migration?
Yes. Open Permission backups, create a backup workspace, and connect the tenant whose permissions you want to save. Capture a SharePoint site, list, or library manually or on a daily or weekly schedule. Compare saved permissions and review selected recovery changes in that same tenant.
Are permission backups free?
Manual and scheduled permission backups, comparisons, recovery-plan preparation, and CSV exports are free. Recovering permissions uses the same restore credits as core restoration, charged once per unique object with a verified change in that workspace. A permission backup saves access settings, not file contents or versions.
Can I receive alerts when permissions change?
Yes. Enable monitoring for a saved scope to compare new complete backups with the previous complete baseline. Choose alerts for known direct guest access and Anyone links, increased permission rights, or inheritance changes. Alerts appear in the app, with optional email summaries. Monitoring is free and never changes permissions automatically.
Will original sharing links keep working?
ShareRestore is designed to reconstruct access in the destination tenant. It does not preserve original source-tenant sharing URLs or tokens. The goal is to recreate appropriate access to the migrated content.
